COMPARISON OF INFRARED AND OPTOCOUPLER SENSORS PERFORMANCE FOR LAB-SCALE RPM MEASUREMENT SYSTEM

In utilizing various alternative energy, generators are used to convert energy into electrical for example, biomass, wind, and hydroelectricity. Generally, the measurements made on rotational speed in form of revolutions per minute (RPM). developing lab-scale power sources, availability with complete quality specifications is still minimal, including RPM capacity. Therefore, measurement which can read accurately, digitally, automatically needed. However, tools available manual, not automatic, prone parallax errors. Hence, a digital automatic was developed this study. Two different sensors were develop based microcontroller. The stages obtained started electronic system development, calibration, testing renewable systems. be from infrared optocoupler Archimedes turbine. results showed that use Optocoupler sensor more accurate than sensor.
